Two recipients for the 2018 Mourant
Chantal Whittaker Memorial Scholarship

Leading offshore law firm and governance services provider, Mourant, is delighted to announce that the Chantal Whittaker Memorial Scholarship Scheme has been awarded this year to David Ramsaran and Gabrielle Myers.

The scheme is open to Caymanian students who are looking to embark on a career in the legal field.

David has recently completed his undergraduate studies at Oxford Brookes University. He graduated with a First Class Honours in Law and will be completing his LPC at the University of Law in London. David is currently taking part in the Mourant Summer Internship Programme for the fourth year in a row and is based with the finance and corporate team.

Gabrielle is currently studying at University of Bedfordshire and will be completing the LLB program in May 2019. She has been part of the University's Law Clinic for the last year assisting both the university and Luton community members with housing, consumer and employment matters. She also holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in History and German Language from Queen's University in Canada. Gabrielle has interned with Mourant for the last three years and has worked with the litigation, governance and corporate teams.

David commented: "I am very grateful for the scholarship from Mourant. It allowed me to be more efficient with my studies abroad and has given me access to guidance from the firm's lawyers regarding my future career in the Cayman Islands."

Gabrielle said: "The Mourant Scholarship has been invaluable in helping me remain dedicated to and focused on my studies, while providing me with the chance to further my practical experience through interning with Mourant It also provides me with the opportunity to take an articled clerk position on returning to Cayman after completing my legal studies."

The Chantal Whittaker Memorial Scholarship Scheme was established by Mourant to honor Chantal Whittaker, whose personal commitment to mentoring, fostering community spirit and helping young people to develop and grow left a legacy that the firm strives to continue.
