Mourant Ozannes advises Casual Dining Group on £1m Jersey Airport set up
10 March 2017
Mourant Ozannes has advised Casual Dining Group (CDG) on its business set up in Jersey, following the food and beverage provider winning a new 10-year contract to operate at Jersey Airport.
CDG successfully won the Jersey Airport operators agreement following a competitive tender process run by Ports of Jersey Limited. The contract for Jersey Airport, which sees around 1.5 million passengers pass through the terminal every year, was put out to tender in 2016, after being held by another company for over 34 years. CDG will open Rapide Kitchen, Brasserie Forty Five, and Bar Forty Five airside; while landside departures and arrivals will each get a Rapide.
The Mourant Ozannes team, led by Partner Helen Ruelle and assisted by Counsel Carla Benest and Associate Katie Phillips, worked in partnership with CDG so that it was able to take over the operations at the airport by 1 March 2017.
CDG runs Café Rouge, Bella Italia and Las Iguanas in the UK. The business has successfully operated the Bella Italia restaurant brand in St Helier for a number of years. CDG's operations at the airport in Jersey are expected to create further jobs in the island.
Mourant Ozannes partner Helen Ruelle commented "It has been an absolute pleasure to work with a great team at CDG and we wish them all the very best for their exciting plans at the airport."
Mourant Ozannes worked alongside UK law firm, Taylor Wessing.
