Mourant Ozannes 'the best funds firm in Jersey'

Mourant Ozannes has received further industry recognition for its market-leading work in investment funds in the latest edition of Legal 500, an independent legal directory.
The firm once again maintained its top tier ranking in Jersey, with all seven Jersey funds partners individually recognised as leading lawyers in their respective markets. This included the team's newest partner, Alistair Horn, who was promoted to the partnership in February. In Guernsey the growing funds team maintained its ranking, with four Guernsey partners recommended in the guide, and was praised as 'excellent' with 'strong jurisdictional knowledge'.
Clients described Mourant Ozannes as 'the best funds firm in Jersey', which is 'particularly strong in client service, backed up by a wealth of experience and knowledge in the local regulatory regime’. The firm's lawyers were praised for their ability to 'solve the most complex problems with the minimum of fuss’ and to combine 'command of the technical detail with commercial pragmatism’.
The recognition reinforces Mourant Ozannes position as the go-to legal adviser in Jersey's funds industry, advising 836 funds in total with an overall value of US$302bn. This is nearly triple the value of funds advised by its nearest competitor, according to independent annual research by Monterey Insight (2016 edition). Across the Channel Islands, Mourant Ozannes advises on one third of all funds in Guernsey and Jersey.
