Mourant Hong Kong practice appoints new litigation and corporate hires to its legal team

Mourant, a law firm-led professional services business, has seen the expansion of its Hong Kong practice with three new hires this month (March 2025), taking the office's total headcount to over 60.
Counsel* Lucy Hickmet has joined the Mourant Litigation team from the Hong Kong office of another international law firm, where she worked for over a decade. Lucy possesses experience in multi-jurisdictional commercial and corporate litigation, contentious trusts, and related non-contentious private client advisory work.
Lucy has previously advised on a number of high-profile contentious matters concerning shareholders, company directors and officers, as well as trustees and beneficiaries; and provided related non-contentious advice.
The Mourant Hong Kong Litigation team has further been bolstered by the appointment of Paralegal Lilia Zhang.
In addition, Nigel Chan has been appointed as Legal Manager in the firm's Corporate and Funds practice. Nigel has previous experience in the Hong Kong offices of both a leading American law firm, and one of the first private partnership law firms in China.
Nigel's practice focuses on the formation and ongoing operation of private investment funds. He is also well-versed in advising on corporate, M&A, and regulatory compliance matters.
Nigel has experience advising sovereign wealth funds, multinational corporations, financial institutions, and university endowments in their fund-related activities.
