Enforcing security over Guernsey real property
16 July 2019
In Guernsey, proceedings to enforce a general bond, judgment debt or other security registered against a property are known as 'saisie proceedings'. By a saisie, the Principal Creditor seeks that the Debtor's real property be vested in the Principal Creditor in satisfaction of the debt due and owing to that creditor. The procedure is governed in Guernsey by the Saisie Procedure (Simplification) (Bailiwick) Order, 1952.
