BVI closed-ended funds

The guide provides an overview of the supervisory regime for private investment funds (PIFs) in the BVI, requiring closed-ended BVI fund vehicles to apply for 'recognition' by the Financial Services Commission prior to their promotion or operation. The Securities and Investment Business Act, Revised Edition 2020 (as amended) and the Private Investment Funds Regulations, 2019 provide for this regime and set out the application procedures for recognition of a PIF and requirements relating to valuation, financial statements and audit.
