Celebrating World Oceans Week 2024
In celebration of World Oceans Week 2024, Mourant and longstanding partner, Ocean Culture Life (OCL), hosted a client event on Thursday 6 June. The event followed on from the success of last year's celebration.
Against the backdrop of breathtaking coastal views at La Saline, L'Etacq, guests heard from OCL storytellers, drawn from across the world, who shared their remarkable and inspiring stories about marine conservation.
Special guest speakers included retired NASA astronaut turned aquanaut, Nicole Stott, and former manager to Apollo 11 astronaut, Buzz Aldrin, Christina Korp. Nicole and Christina shared their unique insights on the way in which space exploration is helping us to better understand the importance of our oceans and how space technology is helping to protect them.
Guests also heard from Ellie Moore, Global Marine Program Communications Manager at Mars Sustainable Solutions, who shared her insight into coral restoration and the Sheba Hope Grows programme.
OCL Co Founders, Matt Porteous and Tamsin Raine, also provided an update on the incredible OCL storytelling grantees who are all making an important difference in marine efforts around the globe, an initiative proudly supported by Mourant.
The event was a perfect celebration of World Oceans Week and reinforced the message on how we can all contribute to the protection of our natural marine environment for future generations.
