Session 1: Update on res judicata

The panel will discuss the res judicata principles and the development of the doctrine in recent court decisions. The talk will also address the issues which parties should consider when dealing with overlapping proceedings and different jurisdictions.
Session 2: Restructuring in the UK, US and Cayman Islands: changing perspectives and valuation issues

This panel will discuss recent developments in the UK, US and Cayman Islands statutory restructuring regimes, including valuation issues, non-debtor releases and absolute priorities.
Session 3: The crisis in Ukraine and issues arising

The situation in Ukraine has given rise to multiple legal issues. This session will cover the issues arising from the fast evolving international sanctions implemented as a result of the crisis and the legal and regulatory risks arising from compliance with sanctions obligation. We will also explore the type and nature of litigation arising from the crisis in Ukraine and seek to look ahead to potential future cases to come before the Courts.
Bronwen took up the post of Director and Chief Executive of The Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House) in August 2022. Prior to this, she was the Director of the Institute for Government, an independent think tank that aims to promote better government.
Bronwen is a visiting professor in the Policy Institute at King’s College London, Honorary Governor of Ditchley, an honorary fellow of the British Academy, and a council member of Research England, one of the research councils of UK Research and Innovation. She writes frequent columns for the Financial Times and broadcasts widely.
